Snow!

So it’s been a while. My internship ended, I gave alot of attention to a girl…that also ended, and I went back to school and my iPod broke. But now I’m home from school for the holidays, have a new iPod and a ton of free time!

It’s also snowing out…it’s pretty. Happy new years! Haha … What’s everyone doing? New years is a notorious disappointment. I resolve to stay in. I am nob going to go to some bar to hunt for a kiss at zero hour from a drunken stranger who is probably alone for a reason. Bah! Humbug.

Lazy daze

Happy 4th of July everyone. Or, pre fourth, rather. Happy birthday to my brother though, who turns 19 today. I’m coming at you live from the office with no urgent announcements.

I’m here early, my boss isn’t even in yet. He should be any minute. I know we all get out early so I figured I could put
P out an extra early morning hour. Hah. My iPods dying I forgot to charge It. Seems to be the story of my life these past few days. Oh well. I’m just waiting til about lunch time to mozy on out of here to begin celebrating yeah. I miss my ingrid.

Always charge your electric razor pt 2

So there I was sitting pretty with a big uncharged electric razor stuck to the hairs on my chinny chin chin. It was at that moment that I remembered that I haven’t ever charged the stupid thing and that the cord is wrapped in plastic requiring two hands to open; and I had to keep one hand holding the razor.

So I started screaming for my brother. No answer. I try louder. Nothing. I knew he was home so I finally went to the bortom of his staircase and started screaming, only to find out that he was busy with guitar hero. Ugh.

After expressing explicitly that my situation was indeed an emergency, he finally put his plastic guitar down and came to my aid. It was not the best morning, and left me with a poece of knowledge I didn’t previously possess: always charge your electric razor.

Always charge your electric razor

Electric razors are great. They’re the closest thing a man will have to a personal lightsaber. But, like a lightsaber, they’re not without their dangers. Especially on low battery.

I’ve always for the most part ignored the low battery warning on electric razors because they give you so much time between the initial warning and actually dying that anyone who charges the thing reasonably often enough will get around to it before it actually dies. Today I experienced every electric razor owners unknown nightmare; the death of the razor mid-shave.

I knew I would be cutting it close on battery life this morning, the red light has been on for a couple days now, but I never thought this could happen. I knew when I was in trouble mid-shave when the razor started getting sluggish but I only needed about 45 more seconds so I went for the gold. Bad idea.

I was making my way around the bottom of my chin when it happened. -putter putter- dead. I immediately realized this was a big deal because when I tried pulling away I felt the pain of this device being attached to all the hairs on my chinny chin chin. It was excruciating.

To be continued…

Courtroom hijinks

Queens again. It’s taking longer than normal today; the place is even more of a zoo than usual, if it can be believed. I had to wait on two subpeonas upstairs while another conference went on downstairs. I’ve been running around all morning. Seriously, the hotdog stand outside is the best part about coming here. It’s been like 4 hours of procedural tie ups.

Next is research at the legal library in mineola supreme court. I’ll spend 2 hours there looking for a form that will turn out to be in the office. Oh well, at least it’s a nice library.

Jailbreaking is not worth it.

Okay so I tried jailbreaking this iPod thinking it would be all gravy; being someone typically used to PC software my drive to explore a devices contents is easily aroused by mac products. There are better things to do with your iPod. Like using it properly.

So I got all set up to jailbreak the thing and got cracking. The first step involves doing something that may disable all your USB ports ifnot done properly. In my case that’s exactly what happened. I decided to reinstall windows, I had enough of it music collection on my iPod already so I figured after reformatting I’d transfer that back over to my computer, jailbreak the iPod, and cut my losses with the remaining 10 or 15 gigs of music lost in the process.

Anyway I’m in court and can’t talk, to make a long story short I forgot to save the music, still jailbroke it wrong, and lost everything only to reinstall the apple firmware. The extra apps arent interesting enough anyway.

Mall daze

I had planned to go out east with Steve and Jacob today but the clouds rained on our parade. So Steve and I ended up going to the mall. It’s alright. We went to shop for fathers day but didn’t find anything. We didn’t really look…really we were just killing time.

Now we’re at the diner grabbing lunch and coffee. I got a Caribbean coffee; it’s delghtful. Banana and vanilla rum in coffee with whipped cream… Yum.

It’s one of those days where I just want to drive into nowhere. I really miss my IB. Our anniversary is coming up. I think I’m going to get her shoes…

Dead time

I’m sitting in the criminal court in Hempstead. The civil court proceeding is over. Sometimes you see a defendant you actually believe and/or feel bad for but most of the time you just see people who think they don’t have to pay a bill or respond to/acknowledge a complaint simply because it’s inconvenient. It’s almost done. Too many peole think it’s not important to show up to court and even less important if you have a lawyer.

Well a word to the wise; if I charge you X dollars for the time it takes me to appear in court on your behalf and you for whatever reason don’t show up… I charge you another X dollars to show up the next time.

But oh man what a nice looking village. The architecture mainly. I got the McChiken I wanted earlier only to get heartburn.
I hope my car isn’t towed…

Fuck you, McDonalds.

Hempstead is nice. It’s one of those quaintish towns. Hard to park though. The court isn’t as nice either it’s really just about the surrounding village. The drive was nice too. The out thing that hasn’t been nice so far is the McDonalds whose dollar menu isn’t available until after lunch as if the buns for burgers aren’t kept right next to the biscuits with which they make breakfast. What the hell Is the point of serving lunch or breakfast selectively. Not everyone runs on your schedule, McDonalds.

So much rain

Oh man. I’ve never been more comfortable in the office. I dressed appropriately for the cold rain outside (after changing out of my court clothes) and am finally warm enough to sit in this building comfortably. I wonder how that dead birds doing…

Anyway, so many pages of notes, and I’m 6 hours behind my schedule… It’s not awful but I gotta catch up soon.
